LTSE provides consulting services from project conception through the programming and schematic phase all the way through construction documents and construction administration. LTSE strives to work with clients to select the most functional and economical structural system for the building. We believe that the selection of a structural system is a major contributing factor towards the overall project budget. We believe that our experience has enhanced our ability to select the most cost effective and efficient system for the project.
In serving the Santa Fe area, LTSE has been challenged with improving, modifying and reclaiming historical structures. In many cases, it is necessary to determine the existing conditions of the structure and provide a cost efficient approach for retrofit to accommodate new occupancy or use. Our approach to this challenge is to ensure a clear line of communication with the client about the various systems and their effect on project budget.
LTSE has had the pleasure to serve clients with atypical structures. Artists, sculptors, and contractors have approached LTSE for services to design structural components of art, temporary structures, movable structures, and rigging.
LTSE has provided services in design-build working in collaboration with/for General Contractors as the Engineer of Record on building projects. Our ability to emphasize collaboration with the client has demonstrated to us that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
•BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM)
Building information modeling has provided the means to provide collaborative designs as well as valuable information during construction administration, construction management, project management, and facility operation. LTSE maintains subscriptions to Autodesk for Revit and has trained all of our staff to produce with Revit. In many cases, our Revit models have been included as part of our project delivery.
FEASIBILITY STUDIES & non-building structures
LTSE provides services to assess the feasibility of projects involving new or existing buildings and other structures. Scope of work for studies include site selection, design selection based on pricing, availability of construction materials, collaboration with metal building manufacturers, and retrofit options.
Forensic Engineering & failure analysis
Assessment of structures that have failed or have become damaged due to an event. Provide recommendations for destructive or non-destructive testing to determine structural adequacy of remaining components of structures. Assessments are focused on the structures’ ability to provide life safety and describe concerns for serviceability issues. In most cases, it is necessary to determine a retrofit or repair extend the life span of the structure.
