Capilla de Luz and Rivera Family Mortuary

The addition to the Rivera Family Mortuary included the construction of a new main chapel, secondary chapel/gathering space, garage addition, and restroom facilities. Both steel and wood construction were utilized. The main chapel consisted of a steel beam and column internal frame supporting a bar joist roof structure. The cylindrical shape of the chapel required a creative approach to the structural design. Concentric diagonal braces comprise the lateral force resisting system.
